This is a really nice village, and has a lovely old local called "Ye Olde Globe" at which you can enjoy a very good meal and I'm sure this will be on your itinerary during your stay.
When you find yourself sitting at breakfast in Cobwebs you will be spoilt for choice in terms of your plans for the day. Lots to do, rain or shine! You will find yourself undertaking lots of great activities some of which may be old favourites or they may be new. From this well positioned base you are within easy reach by car, going as far as the Eden Project in St Austell, Cornwall, which is about 2 hours away to the west through to Minehead eastwards, again about 2 hours away.
Along the coast in between there are the lots of beautiful villages in Exmoor, including Simons bath, Challacombe, Exford etc. which offer some of the most photogenic views in the whole of the UK! You may have children with you, or not, but either way there is a fantastic amount of activities to do and see. There are the beaches all along the coast but especially those beaches at Saunton Sands, Woolacombe and Croyde Bay, or you can join the very large band of "walkers" who only come to North Devon to walk! The South West Coastal Path is a wonderful achievement and walkers will try to walk it in stages to complete it. You may just want a short walk; say Combe Martin to Ilfracombe, or a bigger walk like the Combe Martin to Lynton/Lynmouth section you will be well served. Bringing the right gear certainly helps, but you can undertake these walks with relatively little equipment apart from waterproofs, boots and enthusiasm! There are all sorts of walkers, some walkers with both hips replaced and still manage to walk for 8 hours at a time! When you walk along the cliff walks it is both magical and mysterious. You may not meet many others on these walks and it gives the stressed out and tired the chance to recharge the batteries before going back to their normal lives. A lot of people get hooked on this area and tend to come fairly frequently just to recharge. See you soon!
