Bed and Breakfast in Devon

Bed and breakfast in Devon! Looking for bed and breakfast in Devon? Then look no further. Bed and breakfast at Berry Mill House in Berrynarbor is probably just what you are looking for. Jill and Gerry James are the owners of Berry Mill House, which is a converted 17th century mill, adjacent to the Cobwebs holiday cottage. These are both beautifully situated in a most picturesque location, within the award winning village of Berrynarbor, North Devon, United Kingdom. Berrynarbor is located in a wooded valley between Combe Martin and Ilfracombe and is a perfect location for the exploration of North Devon's world famous Jurassic coastline or just for seeing the majestic beauty of the Exmoor National Park. Coming back to the beautiful village of Berrynarbor, it has a Post Office and General Store and is all within easy walking distance of "Ye Olde Globe Inn" which produces very good "pub grub" for lunch throughout the week. Of course Jill and Gerry offer homemade Evening Meals at Berry Mill House. When you find yourself at Berry Mill House you will be spoilt for choice in terms of your holiday plans. There is so much to do that whether the sun's out, or it isn't, you will find yourself undertaking many different forms of activity and which will bring you back to the same spot year after year. From this perfect base there is so much within easy reach by car, going as far as the Eden Project in St Austell, Cornwall, which is about 2 hours away to the west through to Minehead eastwards, again about 2 hours away. In between there are the many, many beautiful villages in Exmoor, including Simons bath, Challacombe, Exford etc. all of which are served by the National Trust and which offer the most beautiful sights in the UK! Whether you have children with you, or are just past that age or even well past that age there is a fantastic amount of things to do and see. You can go the the beaches all along the coast but particularly the surfing beaches at Saunton Sands, Woolacombe and Croyde Bay, or you can join the very large band of "walkers" who only come to North Devon for that purpose. The South West Coastal Path is an incredible achievement and walkers will walk it in stages over years to complete it. Whether you just want a short walk, say Combe Martin to Ilfracombe, or a bigger walk like the Lynton to Combe Martin section you will be well served. It pays to have the right equipment, but you can undertake these walks with relatively little equipment apart from waterproofs, boots and enthusiasm! Walkers come in all shapes and sizes and some walkers with both hips replaced and still manage to walk for 8 hours at a time! The feeling along the cliff walks is magical and mysterious. You won’t meet that many others on these walks and it gives the stressed out and tired the chance to recharge the batteries before going back to the fray. Most people get hooked on this area and tend to come at least once every year or two to keep up the that very special feeling you get after a few days down here. So there we are, just a few words from somebody who absolutely loves living down here. Just as a ps, it's worth talking about the "out of season" part of the year. When we get through to November and December, it's usually not too cold here, although it may be raining. If you like walking and seeing the countryside in all its splendour and not be bothered by anyone else, then that's the time to come down here. The winter is just great for walking. With the right clothes on, a pair of good walking boots, a lightweight stick (well, anyway for me) you can go up the hills and feel really great, and after all that exercise a bit of good company is just the thing in the local. So, hope to see you, perhaps even out of season
